Lindbergh Boys Finish 4th at the Mt. Baker Invitational

It was another great day for the Cross Country team this weekend as we competed in the Mt. Baker Invite north of Bellingham.  Everyone agreed that it was one of the coolest courses we have ever ran.  We had a great time staying the night in Bellingham, and we lucked out on the weather.  Here are the individual results.

The course was 3 miles (not the usual 5K). It was a two-lap course that had a medium-difficulty hill to run up on both loops. There was also a steep, rocky gully the runners ran through that must be seen to be believed. The course alternated between open grass fields with long grass and uneven footing and single-track wooded trails. The course was wet and soggy from morning rain. There were steep mountains jutting up all around the state park that made the location spectacularly beautiful. The rain stopped in time for the start of the races.

Our boys team finished 4th out of 37 schools. Ahead of us were Burlington-Edison (one of the top three 3A teams in the state) with 94 points, Skyline with 168 points, and Lakewood with 208 points. Lindbergh had 211 points.

Here are the varsity places and times:

13th Chris Miland 15:58, 36th James Turnbull 16:38, 48th Ranvir Sahota 16:49, 50th Andy Dean 16:50, 65th Tor Ferguson 17:01, David Rice 17:16, 97th Matt Miland 17:29.
