2012 Cross Country State Meet Itinerary

Friday

9:00 Leave Lindbergh
10:45 Bathroom stop in Ellensburg
11:30 lunch at Subway in Yakima or in the valley
1:30 check into hotel in Kennewick
2:00 leave to run the course
3:45 back at the hotel
5:30 leave for dinner (Casa Mia in Kennewick)
7:30 stop at the grocery store on the way back from dinner
8:00ish back at hotel
10:00 in your own room
11:00 lights out

Saturday

7:30 wake-up
8:00 Breakfast in the hotel
9:00 Boys go for a walk with Coach Randall
9:00 Girls and alternates leave hotel for the course/set up team area
10:15 girls warm up
10:30 boys leave hotel
11:00 girls race
11:30 boys eat light lunch at the course (half a sandwich, powerbar, apple, water)
12:45 boys warm-up
1:30 boys race
2:20 girls and boys awards
3:00 leave Pasco
4:15 dinner at Miner’s in Yakima
5:30 leave Yakima
8:00 arrive back at Lindbergh

State meet qualifiers will leave school Friday morning at about 8:00. We will jog the course in the early afternoon. We will stay at the Kennewick Super 8 Hotel. The meet is at the Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco. The 2A girls run at 11:00, and the boys run at 1:30. The awards for both boys and girls will take place at 2:20. We will get home late Saturday night.

Mohamud continued his winning ways at the West Central District meet, winning by :09. He is the Seamount League Champ, the Sub-District Champ, and the West Central District champ. Great job Mo!

The boys team took second place in the meet, qualifying for the state meet. Our boys team has qualified for state eight years in a row, and 10 of the past 11 years.

The girls team just missed a state berth, finishing in 6th place (the top 5 qualify). Two of our girls qualified individually, however. Thuong ran an impressive race, finishing 7th. Christine also ran a very strong 21st place finish.

The state meet is this coming Saturday in Pasco.

Saturday, Oct 27th is the West Central District meet at American Lake Golf Course. This meet determines which teams qualify for the state meet. All classifications of schools will compete at this meet in their respective races. There will be 12 2A teams competing. The top 6 boys teams and the top 5 girls teams qualify for state.

Here is the schedule for the day:

We had another great meet at Sub-Districts. The boys took first place as a team, and Mohamud won the individual title. The girls, running without Cindy, placed third. Many team members ran strong PRs.

Boys team scores: Lindbergh 53, White River 74, Sumner 80.
Girls team scores: Sumner 55, Steilacoom 83, Lindbergh 84

Saturday, Oct. 20th is the Sub-District meet. This meet includes the Seamount League 2A teams AND the SPSL 2A teams. There will be a total of 15 2A teams competing at the meet. This is the final race of the season for the JV runners. It is on the same course–Fort Steilacoom–that we ran earlier in the season. The 3A and 4A schools will also be competing at the same location. We had a great day today at the Seamount League Meet at Evergreen. Both the boys and the girls teams finished undefeated seasons to become the 2012 Seamount League Champions.

The top 3 girls team scores: Lindbergh 18, Kennedy 58, Renton 67

The top 3 boys team scores: Lindbergh 38, Hazen 51, Renton 75

Thuong Nguyen won the girls race, while Christine finished 4th, Cindy 6th, Stassney 8th, and Ariel 9th.

Mohamud Abdi won the boys race, with Colton finishing 5th, Mitchell 8th, and Omelyan 9th.

We also put our top 5 JV boys in the top 10 (Grant 3rd, Matt 6th, Jacob 7th, Dupree 8th, and Will 9th).

This Saturday, Oct. 13th, is the Seamount League Meet. It takes place at Evergreen High School (the same location as the Class Meet). All eight teams from the league will be there. Here is the schedule for the day.
