The 2006 boys team is now officially the best team in the history of Lindbergh cross country. Prior to this year, no team had placed better than 7th at state.
Some interesting Lindbergh Cross Country statistics: We have competed at the state meet 5 out of the last 6 years. Out of those 5 state meets, we have place (in order) 11th, 9th, 10th, 8th, 6th. This year we beat the 7th place team by 63 points, but we were only 22 points from the 3rd place team. This team (the best in school history) had two freshmen and two sophomores on the varsity, and one of the those sophomores is a first year runner. Trevor was the fastest freshman in the state, and Nate was the 9th fastest freshman in the state. This year's freshmen class, with 6 strong runners, is the best in Lindbergh cross country history.
Hard work over the next year from our top 8 or 10 runners + the talent we already have on our team = hardware at the state meet

The state meet is in Pasco at the Sun Willows golf course. The team will leave Friday morning at about 7:30. We will run the course Friday afternoon. The 3A boys race starts at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The awards presentation will take place at about 3:00. The team will leave Pasco at about 3:30. We'll drive to Yakima for dinner. We will be back at Lindbergh around 9:00 pm.
We are staying at the Kennewick Super 8 hotel. The school pays for the hotel and some of the food costs. Team members will need to bring some additional money to pay for their meals. They should also bring money if they want to purchase state meet gear.

The West Central District is now an uber district, containing half of the 3A teams in the state. 16 teams qualified for the district meet. The top 8 girls teams and the top 7 boys teams qualify for the state meet.
The Lindbergh runners ran great today as a team. The boys finished 2nd, packing 3 runners in the top 8. The girls, running without #3 runner Bailey Bangerter, finished 13th. Of the 14 team members who ran in the meet, 12 of them ran PRs.
The boys team will compete in the state meet next Saturday.

All three teams met their team goals today at the Seamount League championship meet. The varstiy girls started the day off with a huge victory over Mt. Ranier to finish in third place in the league. The varsity boys followed with a first place finish. The J.V. boys finished up with a victory over Renton, to take second overall in the meet. In addition to meeting all three team goals, many team members ran PRs on the challenging course at Evergreen High School.

This Saturday, 10-21, is the League meet. It takes place at Evergreen High School. Here is the schedule:
9:30 be at Lindbergh
11:30 Girls varsity race
12:00 Boys varsity race
12:30 JV boys and girls race

This year's All-City meet was not what we had hoped it would be. Each of the Lindbergh teams finished the day with one win and two losses. On the boys side, the day was made particularly difficult due to Chris Miland not running as a result of a calf strain suffered the previous day. Without Chris, we had to move our top JV runner up to varsity, which left the JV without its usual fire power. If we score the meet with Chris in the race, our varsity boys would have easily won, and the JV would have been very close. One the girls side, our team ran very well and we easily defeated Kennedy.
