On To State!

Both the boys and the girls teams qualified for the state meet this weekend. The girls finished in 4th place (the top 5 go to state), and were only 17 points out of first place. The boys finished in first place to become the West Central District Champions for the second year in a row. The boys ran without Mohamud, who was resting a sore back. Colton ran a great race as the alternate.

This is the third year in a row that both the boys and the girls teams qualified for state.

On To State!

Both the Lindbergh boys and the girls teams qualified for the state meet today at the West Central District meet.  Half of the schools in the entire state are in our district.  The girls ran their best race of the season and finished in 5th, and the boys ran one of their best races of the year to finish second.

This is the first time the girls have qualified as a team for the state meet since 1996 and the first time both teams have gone to state in the same season since 1992.  The girls beat two teams that were ranked in the top ten in the state:  Capital was ranked 7th and Enumclaw was ranked 10th.  The boys were beaten by the 4th ranked Peninsula, and they beat 5th ranked North Kitsap and 9th ranked Columbia River.
