Fort Steilacoom Results

Both our boys and our girls teams took first place in the “Small Schools” category (4A and 3A schools are Big Schools, while 2A, 1A, and 1B schools are Small Schools).

Overall this was the best our girls team has ever done at this meet in terms of the times of our top 6 varsity runners. Almost everyone on both the boys and girls teams ran a PR or was within a few seconds of their PR. It is always great to start the season at or ahead of where you left off the previous season. Our team did this. Our new runners got their cross country careers off to a great start with their first 5K race.

Endalkachew is now 10th on the Lindbergh All-Time list with his 16:03. Lauren is now 9th on the All-Time list. Feven is now 17th on the All-Time List. This means that our girls team has our top five runners in the Top 25 All-Time in Lindbergh history. Could this become the best girls team ever? I’m excited to find out.

We have lots of work to do to keep improving and to meet our potential as a team, but we are off to a great start.

Fun and Success at the Tahoma Coed Relays

How could you not have fun running in a meet at a state park on a sunny day with 41 teams with a beautiful course with single-track trails and a lake to run through? What a great way to kick of our racing season. And once again a Lindbergh team took home some hardware: The team of Colton Maddy, Lauren Wick, Grant Haley, Feven Fessehatzion, and David Huff finished 9th overall.

Even though the times don’t mean much since we really don’t know how long the course is AND you have to run through deep water, I posted times on athletic.net. At least you can compare you times with other peoples’. Keep in mind that since the meet was not timed by the meet directors and uploaded, it is up to individual coaches to keep the times and load the results. Consequently, these results are incomplete since not all of the coaches entered results.

First Meet of the Season–The Tahoma Coed Relays

This Saturday, Sept. 7th is the Tahoma Coed Relay race.

The Tahoma Coed Relay race is a fun way to start the season. The course is about a mile and a half and runs through the park and on single-track trails. It even goes through the lake for about 100 yards. Team members will either run in the Open Race or in the Relay race. Relay teams consist of three boys and two girls. Since we have more boys than girls on the team, some of the boys will be entered in the Open Race.

The meet takes place at Lake Wilderness State Park in Maple Valley (22500 SE 248th Street, Maple Valley, WA 98038).

The Open Race starts at 8:30 and the Relay Race starts at 9:15. The Awards Ceremony will take place at about 10:45. We should be back at the school by 11:30ish.
