Runners of the Week

Two people earned the Runner of the Week award for the week of the district meet.  They are Bailey Bangerter and David Rice.  Here is why they were chosen.

Bailey ran with the girls team and coach Swanson all through the summer. This effort made a big difference for her this cross country season. Through her hard work and consistent dedication to her running, she has improved her times all season long. Her time at the district meet was over two minutes faster than her time last year. For her hard work, commitment, and continued improvement, Bailey earns runner of the week.

David has been off-season training machine the past two years. He has perhaps put forth more effort than anyone else on the team in terms of working hard to improve his running. David, however, was not blessed with an abundance of natural foot speed. He has worked hard on improving his running form and turn-over rate this season. He has never stopped in his quest to get faster. His efforts have paid off. He tied his PR at districts. He improved about 1:30 over last season. He just ran a mile in practice in 5:04. On top of all of this, David has been a fantastic team leader. For all of these reasons, David Rice has earned the Runner of the Week award.
