Going the Distance

Starting the week of spring break the distance runners are really "Going the Distance", By completing the Lake Youngs loop.

On Monday the first day of spring break practices the distance runners had a long run day. We drove up to the Lake Youngs Water Reservoir in Fairwood, which has a perimeter fence with a trail/dirt road around it. The whole loop is 9.33 Miles (15 Kilometers). This loop is tough with many hills it’s a rollercoaster ride of hill after hill, up and down then up again. Just completing the loop is a big accomplishment and many of the runners longest run before yesterday was only 6 miles.
Everyone that completed the loop asked if they could do the whole loop because they wanted too, they could of ran 6 miles but they stepped it up starting the week off on a good note. With more confidence in their endurence and knowing they are in good shape. Congratulations to all who made it and keep up the hard work.
