Summer Training Officially Begins June 1st
Track is over. Everyone has had a break. Now it is time to begin training for Cross Country.
Starting June 1st your mileage counts towards the summer mileage clubs. You have 13 weeks to reach the mileage targets. To join the 500 mile club, you need to average about 40 miles a week. To join the 250 mile club, you need about 20 miles a week.
These are exclusive clubs, and the requirements are not easy to meet. But if you are willing to work hard and demonstrate persistance and a commitment to a goal, this will be one of the best experiences and accomplishments of your life.
Everything works on the honor system. You need to record your miles on the calander that I give you. You can pick up your summer packets with the calendar in my room next week. We will also have a cross country meeting within the next two weeks. Stay tuned.
