Lindbergh Cross Country

This weekend the team will travel to Portland to compete in the Nike Pre-Nationals Cross country meet. There will be teams from all around the country participating. We will leave Friday right after school, stay the night at the Super 8 hotel in Kelso, drive to Portland in the morning, and return late Saturday. Team members will need money for food for the weekend. You may also want to bring money for meet shirts–they always have some cool stuff for sale at the meet. We are paying for the hotel and transportation out of the team budget.

Make sure you bring clothes for any and all weather possibilities. We will go for a run Friday from the hotel, so you need running clothes other than your uniform.

Here is the itinerary for the weekend:

Directions to Portland Meadows Golf Course
I-5 S. to exit 306B, and follow signs to Portland Meadows. The course is located less than a 1/2 mile from the freeway.

Friday
2:45 leave LHS
5:00 arrive at Kelso Super 8 hotel
5:30 Run on the Coweeman River trail
6:30 Dinner—walk from hotel
8:30 Team meeting in hotel
10:00 In your own room
11:00 lights out

Saturday
7:30ish wake-up, go to breakfast in the hotel
8:30 check-out, load vans
8:45 leave hotel—bring your lunch/snacks with you
9:30 arrive at Portland Meadows Race Track/golf course
11:15 Girls Varsity 1 race (Feven, Christine, Cindy, Lauren, Norchel, Jenny, Lidiya)
11:40 Boys Varsity 1 race (Daniel, Alex, Deven, Dupree, Tyler, Marshall, Colton)
1:35 Boys JV Championships (Chase, Ben, Josh, Zach, Jayden)
2:00 Boys JV (all remaining runners)
2:25 Girls JV
3:30 Leave Portland
5:00 Stop for dinner in Chehalis or Centralia
8:00 – 9:00 Arrive at Lindbergh
