The results of Saturday’s race will be posted soon at www.watfxc.com. Great job to everyone who participated in the race!
Our boys and girls both finished in 6th place at the state meet yesterday. This is the best combined result in the history of the school–Lindbergh has never had two teams place in the top 10 in the same year. The previous best finish for the Lindbergh girls was 10th, meaning that this is clearly the best girls team ever. Only one boys team has placed higher than 6th (last year's team, which was 4th).
The girls were only 8 points away from 5th place, and the boys were 15 points away from 3rd.
Only 3 girls teams ever from the Seamount League have placed higher than we did this year: 1978 Renton 3rd, 1979 Kennedy 3rd, 1981 Renton 5th.
No other team in the state this year had both their boys and girls teams place in the top 6 at state.
Two of our individual runners made the podium this year: Sarah Reiter was 14th and Trevor Thompson was 12th.
Most importantly, our team had tons of fun this weekend and enjoyed a team experience that I am sure we will all remember for a long time to come.

Both the Lindbergh boys and the girls teams qualified for the state meet today at the West Central District meet. Half of the schools in the entire state are in our district. The girls ran their best race of the season and finished in 5th, and the boys ran one of their best races of the year to finish second.
This is the first time the girls have qualified as a team for the state meet since 1996 and the first time both teams have gone to state in the same season since 1992. The girls beat two teams that were ranked in the top ten in the state: Capital was ranked 7th and Enumclaw was ranked 10th. The boys were beaten by the 4th ranked Peninsula, and they beat 5th ranked North Kitsap and 9th ranked Columbia River.
Some of our girls moved up on the all-time list: Anna Patti is now the 5th fastest ever, Ariel Hodges moved up to #29 on the list, Liz Hansen is 36th, and Brenna Fisher is 38th all-time.

The girls all ran great. Everyone else ran well also, and we easily won each of the races. The complete results will be posted on http://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/School.aspx?SchoolID=433
