Lindbergh Runs Big At Districts

The West Central District is now an uber district, containing half of the 3A teams in the state.  16 teams qualified for the district meet.  The top 8 girls teams and the top 7 boys teams  qualify for the state meet.

The Lindbergh runners ran great today as a team.  The boys finished 2nd, packing 3 runners in the top 8.  The girls, running without #3 runner Bailey Bangerter, finished 13th.  Of the 14 team members who ran in the meet, 12 of them ran PRs.

Success At League Championships

All three teams met their team goals today at the Seamount League championship meet.  The varstiy girls started the day off with a huge victory over Mt. Ranier to finish in third place in the league.  The varsity boys followed with a first place finish.  The J.V. boys finished up with a victory over Renton, to take second overall in the meet.  In addition to meeting all three team goals, many team members ran PRs on the challenging course at Evergreen High School.

A Tough Day For Lindbergh at the All-City Meet

This year's All-City meet was not what we had hoped it would be.  Each of the Lindbergh teams finished the day with one win and two losses.  On the boys side, the day was made particularly difficult due to Chris Miland not running as a result of a calf strain suffered the previous day.  Without Chris, we had to move our top JV runner up to varsity, which left the JV without its usual fire power.  If we score the meet with Chris in the race, our varsity boys would have easily won, and the JV would have been very close.  One the girls side, our team ran very well and we easily defeated Kennedy.

All City Meet at Seward Park

Wednesday, October 11th, we have our all-city meet at Seward Park.  The race times are the same as previous meets (3:30, 4:00, and 4:30).

The start and finish on the course at Seward Park are at the highest elevation level of the park.  The start is near the amphitheater.  You can either park down below and walk up the hill, or you can wind your way up to the top and park near the start.  The finish is off the road on the main trail a little ways–about 200 meters from the start.

See you there.

Three Team Members Make the Road Warrior

Madeline Platt, Chris Miland, and Matt Miland all ran the entire half-mile, 5 honk Road Warrior today (Sat. Oc 7).  For anyone who doesn't know, a Road Warrior is where the coach drives his car at a constant speed (15 mph for the guys and 12 mph for the girls), honking his horn every tenth of a mile.  Runners, in groups of 3 – 5, run along side of the car for as long as they can.  Once a runner drops behind the back bumper, he or she has to stop.  The goal is to see how many honks you can last.  The road we run the Road Warriors on is 1/2 of a mile.  The guys who make it the entire way run the 1/2 mile in 2:00.  The girls run it in 2:30.

Chris was able to run two Road Warriors today.  He looked like he could have run all the way to Lake Washington at that speed.

Everyone on the team ran awesome and had a lot of fun.  Check out the photo gallery for pictures.

Another Victorious Day For Boys and Girls Teams

Thursday, 10-05, we ran at a crazy new course at the Seatac Community Center.  Although we left with a few knee bruises and scrapes from the many holes and obnoxious sharp turns at the bottom of steep hills, we managed to remain relatively healthy.  At the same time, we finished the day with two more wins under our belts.
