Another Win at Mt. Baker Invitational

For the fourth year in a row the boys team took first place at the Mt. Baker invitational.  Our top seven times were the fastest times we have ever had at this meet.  The JV boys also took first place.  The girls finished in fourth place.  The good news with the girls team is that some of our injured runners are beginning to train and race again.

Sarah Reiter continued her winning ways, taking first by a large margin and missing the course record by only ten seconds.

Great Running, Lots of Fun at Mt. Baker Invite

The boys varsity and boys JV repeated as champions, and the girls had their best finish ever at the Mt. Baker invitational today (varsity was 5th and the JV was 4th).  Trevor won the boys race, beating Nathan Weitz of Shadle Park, one of the favorites to win the 3A state meet.  Sarah was 3rd and Jasmine was 8th in the girls race.  In the JV, Brett Love finished second and Nicolle finished 12th.

More Success At Mt. Baker

Today the boys JV and Varsity both took first place at the Mt. Baker invitational.  The JV boys easily won–the second place team had about twice as many points.  The varsity squeaked out a win, with a margin of only one point over Burlington-Edison.  The girls team ran very well, with all 14 of our girls running in the race for the first time of the season.  They finished in about the middle of the pack, but they beat our Seamount rival Mt. Rainier.  Trevor Thompson won the boys individual title, while Sarah Reiter finished a close second in the girls race.  The conditions were very wet and muddy, which made a crazy, slippery, and slow course.

Mt. Baker Invite–Another Success For Lindbergh

Lindbergh went to another big invitional Saturday, 9/30, and came away with yet another plaque.  The J.V. boys finished 5th overall, which is a huge improvement over last year's 16th place finish.  The girls results have not yet been posted, so I am not sure what place they finished in.  However, our girl's team placing was certainly ahead of last year's.  The varsity boys finished in 3rd place, but were the first place 3A team.

Burlington Edison (now 2A) was the defending meet champion.  They were also 3rd place at the state meet last year in the 3A division.  They didn't graduate a single varsity runner last year.  They took first place again this year at Mt. Baker with 85 points.  Lake Stevens, the second place team with 99 points, placed 4th in the 4A state cross country meet last year.  Most of their varsity team returned as well, including the defending 4A 3200 state champion.  Lindbergh was 3rd with 115 points.

Almost everyone on the team who ran at Mt. Baker last year ran substanially faster this year.  Lots of team members ran PRs.  The course was only 3 miles, not 5K, so the PRs are based on average mile pace.
